“God is always looking for ordinary people to play significant roles in His unfolding story”
If you think about it, characters that we read in the Bible vary from scandalous backgrounds to the most prestigious positions that God used to shape the history of the world. You might be like Moses who’s trying to run from his dark past. You might be a stutterer and you don’t like to be around people. You think that God’s call is only for talented people or natural leaders. You’re just a part of the crowd for this story makers. Or maybe you’re at the peak of your life right now. You just got promoted, you’re engaged, or you just bought your own house. You feel invincible. You are living in your own story.
Do you know what these two scenarios have in common? Both of its plot are wrong. Either the story is full of insecurity or self-confidence. But here’s what I want to remind you:
You are just a tiny spec in the vast universe our God-creator owns. You are a little piece chosen by God to play an incredibly small role in one little chapter of His expansive story.
Psalms 139:16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written,The days fashioned for me,When as yet there were none of them.
Psalms 56:8 You number my wanderings;Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?

I love how Louie Giglio’s book made me realize my insignificance. Louie made me realize that #iamnot capable of succeeding on my own. #iamnot significant in the eyes of men. That my story is not actually MY story, but HIS story. That my loving Savior had already written the most beautiful story for me to play already.
When I began to have the right mindset, that yes, #iamnot and He is I AM, I began to see life differently. The pressure began to fall away from me as I keep my eyes on Him. Because I know it’s HIS story. And I’ve already read the book. It’ll be a magnificent ending.
Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
